Brewers shoot down Blue Jays 15-5

THE Brewers remain one of the teams to beat in the Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League after showcasing their prowess against the Blue Jays with a 15-5 victory on Friday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.

But the Brewers seemed to have started on the wrong foot as they were allowed only one hit in the top of the opening inning while the  Blue Jays answered with two runs led by Reyes and Alvin Takai who earned an RBI each for a 2-0 lead.

After a scoreless second inning, the Brewers finally started cooking as they took advantage of the Blue Jays’s defensive errors and squeezed in three runs in the top of the third.

However, the Blue Jays recovered and applied their own offensive pressure which forced the Brewers to commit errors that allowed the Blue Jays to notch three runs and retain the upper hand.

The Blue Jays, however, failed to maintain consistency on the defensive end as the Brewers’ Verlance Secharmidol and Jerome Delos Santos hit a two-RBI single and two-RBI double, respectively, to snatch the lead once again.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Brewers unleashed a five-run rally and secured the win with two more runs in the top of the sixth to end the game early, 15-5.
