NOLAN Cultura has proven once again that he is the pool player to beat after clinching his second straight title in the New Bamboo/Budweiser Battle of the Champions 8-Ball Tournament by defeating Jerry Soriano on Sunday, Nov. 7.
Cultura was unstoppable as he bulldozed his way through the competition.
His first opponent was Ed Mariano who was no match to Cultura’s skills.
More of the same was seen against his next opponent, Juancho M., as Cultura’s ability to set up shots proved to be his biggest asset.
After dispatching Randy David in the third round, Cultura found himself in the semifinals against Jess Farinas.
A tough competitor, Farinas pocketed a handful of balls, but in the end, it was Cultura who played better and notched the win.
Soriano, who fell into the loser’s bracket in the second round, managed to stay alive and make his way back into contention after besting Farinas to set up a championship match against Cultura.
Despite Soriano’s efforts, Cultura’s reign could not be disrupted as he made quick work of his opponent to bag the win and the champion of champions title.
