DANDAN collected their second win in the U18 boys division of the 2022 Marianas Village Pride Basketball League by defeating San Vicente, 29-18, Tuesday at the TSL Sports Complex.
Dandan found their rhythm early in the opening half as their unselfish approach, paired with great ball movement, opened up several shot opportunities.
Dandan’s Khristien David ignited the run in the first 10 minutes highlighted by an and-one play that was followed by a three-pointer. Team mate Kenny Laquian, for his part, scored five points as Dandan surged ahead.
San Vicente tried to build momentum but only Kobe Imperial and Stephen Chen could find the bottom of the net while Dandan continued its scoring rampage with Marl Balignasay and Aiden Suba delivering seven and six points for a 37-18 lead.
Dandan’s dominance continued throughout the second half. Defensively, they were nearly impenetrable. Offensively, Suba, Laquian, Balignasay and Juan Escalada were unstoppable as Dandan cruised to an emphatic victory, 66-36.
Kobler vs Chalan Kiya
Koblerville on Monday overpowered Chalan Kiya, 65-39.
Kobler’s Justin Mateo took the spotlight in the first half of the game as he aggressively attacked the rim to draw a handful of fouls along the way to deliver a total of 15 points.
With team mates Airson Atan, Tynk Basa and DK Fiden cleaning up the mess inside with a couple of buckets each, Kobler established a double-digit control by halftime, 32-16.
Chalan Kiya tried to pick up the pace in the second half with constant offensive pressure led by Lushawnn Reyes who scored five of his 10 points from the charity line. But they failed to stop Kobler’s onslaught as Atan, Fiden and Mateo continued to deliver en route to a blowout victory, 65-39.
Dandan’s Gabriel Arkoh protects the ball as he drives in for the finish during a U18 boys division game of the 2022 Marianas Village Pride Basketball League at the TSL Sports Complex.
