THE 6JMS Drunken Dragons collected their 180th win in the A Division of the SEDA Bud Light League by beating Tambayan 101 Proofers 11-6 on Monday at the Tambayan Resto Bar & Grill.
Both teams went all out in the first two matches of the night. Nestor Abing was the first to draw blood for the 101 Proofers but Drunken Dragons Ronald “Chu Papi” Doria and Gigi “Badong” Gatmaitan won their games to give their team the lead.
Rolly Bermiso then managed to snatch the last round for the 101 Proofers to even the score 2-2.
Both teams remained evenly matched as they split the next two games 1-1.
However, in the Singles Half-It round, the tie was broken. 101 Proofers’ Orly Paconlan won the first game, but the Drunken Dragons’ Gatmaitan, Doria and Raymond “Yatz” Naluz snatched victories which allowed their team to pull away, 6-4.
The 101 Proofers tried to stay alive by splitting the Partners Crazy Cricket match but the Drunken Dragons pulled another 3-1 run to seal victory, 11-6.
Winners, too
Joining the winner’s circle were the 6JMS Thunder Darts who took down Jonny’s Ridin’ Darrty 12-5.
The Thunder Darts entered the game ready and it showed as they quickly established dominance. Gaius “Relaks” Gille, Bobby “Underdog” De Leon and June “Viper” Orencia took off with a 3-1 run and followed it up with a two-win sweep in the Partners 701 match.
Ridin’ Darrty tried to fight back, splitting the next Singles Half-It match, but the Thunder Darts responded by clinching their second two-win sweep to secure the match win, 12-5.
The final win of the night was claimed by Bistro D’ Strikers which pummeled the 6JMS Mafia, 12-5.
D’ Strikers could not be stopped as they swept the first three matches to take a commanding 10-0 lead.
Although the loss was inevitable, the Mafia went down swinging and prevented a wipeout.
