ED Manglona has been added to the list of elite Amigos Golf Club players after clinching the February Ace of the Month title Sunday at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
During the qualifying round on Feb. 6, Manglona had one of the better performances of the day as he cleared the course with a gross score of 82.
With a handicap of 15, he ended with a net score of 67 to take the lead.
In the ace round held Sunday, Manglona slightly struggled and ended with a gross score of 85. But thanks to a handicap of 15, his net score was 70 which gave him a net total of 137 and the February Ace of the Month title.
Joe Sablan Jr. was only one stroke away. On day one, he shot a gross of 79. With a handicap of 9, his net score was 70. Although he improved his game on day two with a gross score of 77 for a net of 68, his net total was 138, good enough for second place.
Finishing third was Sherlyn Jones who shot a net score of 68 on day one, but somewhat lost her touch on day two with a net score of 73 for a net total of 141.
In the side events, four players made it to the Par 3 list. Bill Quitano highlighted hole #6; Joe Sablan Jr. reigned on hole #8; Fredd Salavaria was supreme on hole #12; and Joe Tudela shined on hole #15. Each winner received $180.
