The Expert Class riders take off in round 2 of the MRA Points Race Series at Cow Town Raceway Park on Sunday.
Corry Pangelinan and Aric Cruz battle for the lead in the Intermediate Class during round 2 of the MRA Points Race Series at Cow Town Raceway Park on Sunday.
THE more experienced riders topped their respective classes in round 2 of the 2023 Marianas Racing Association Points Race Series at Cow Town Raceway Park on Sunday.
In the Veterans Class, Dave Celis claimed his second consecutive first-place finish as he outclassed the competition with great control while putting on a show with high jumps throughout both heats of the six-lap race for a perfect 50-point finish.
In second place was Cuki Alvarez who finished right behind Celis in both heats to earn 44 points while Melvin Cepeda came in third for 40 points.
Novice Class
Also notching his second flawless performance was Vicente Palacios who eased his way to the top of the eight-lap Novice Class with 50 points. Matthew Guerrero settled for second place with 44 points while Christian Camacho finished third with 40 points.
Intermediate Class
Corry Pangelinan, for his part, notched his second straight 50-point finish in the 10-lap Intermediate Class. His ability to endure the course was his biggest strength as he bested Aric Cruz who settled for second place with 44 points, and Henry Camacho Jr. who came in third with 40 points.
Expert Class
Cuki Alvarez is still the number one rider in the Expert Class after clinching his second win against his son, Shane Alvarez.
In heat 1, father and son continuously battled for position throughout 12 laps. In the end, it was Shane who rode the momentum to the top to grasp first place and bag 25 points while Cuki shadowed behind to earn 22 points.
However, in heat 2, Cuki turned the tables to beat Shane who settled for second place. Both had 47 points, but Cuki won the tiebreaker for winning heat 2.
In third place was Dave Celis with 38 points.
Mama’s Class
In the Mama’s Class, Maribel Igitol earned her second 50-point finish against Marlyn Castro who took second place with 44 points.
