THE Falcons are off to a strong start in the Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League as they emerged victorious over the SPC Survivors, 8-1, at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Tuesday.
The Survivors’ only run came in the top of the opening inning, courtesy of Luis Diaz’s double that brought home Austin Hocog.
But the Falcons allowed the Survivors only three hits for the remainder of the game.
On offense, the Falcons managed to even the score after Henry Aguon capitalized off a Survivors’ error in the bottom of the second inning.
Both teams then exchanged defensive highlights with no hits recorded during the third and fourth innings.
However, in the bottom of the fifth, the Falcons’ Giovani Mica brought in MJ Aldan and Ian Norita for a 2-RBI single. Mica was then brought in with an assist from Jordan Suel who also stole home base due to a fielder’s choice to give his team the lead, 5-1.
Their lead only grew as they added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth, thanks to Mica’s 2-RBI single and Ian Norita’s RBI single as the Falcons coasted to a comfortable 8-1 victory.
