FAVORED players excelled in their respective categories in the 2022 Bridge Capital Tennis Classic which concluded Sunday at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.
In the Boys Singles 10, Cody Park bagged the title by defeating Michael Jeon 6-4.
The one-set finals was a tough match between the two athletes as neither could gain a proper lead.
Park was the aggressor as he returned with quickness and power. But Jeon stood his ground and defended his end of the court.
However, after forcing Jeon to commit errors, Park eventually grasped the lead and won the match and the title, 6-4.
Intense
The Boys Singles 12 title match was intense as Ian Chae had to fight through three sets before beating Ryan Choi.
In the first set, Chae controlled the pace and powered through for the finish to edge his opponent, 6-4.
In the second set, Choi retaliated with his own highlights as he flipped the script with a display of skills to stun Chae, 6-3, and force a third set.
Choi, however, failed to keep his composure, allowing Chae to capitalize with successive attacks en route to a 10-6 final set and match victory.
Other match results
Henry Choi joined the winner’s circle as he claimed the Boys Singles 14 title by defeating Siwoo Lee 6-2, 7-5.
David Kwon, for his part, had a near-flawless performance in overpowering Cody Shimizu, 6-1, 6-0 to bring home the Boys Singles 16 title.
As for the Men’s Singles, Jimin Woo reigned supreme as he outplayed Colin Ramsey 6-2, 6-3.
Yutaka Kadokura bagged the Men’s Singles 3 title by outlasting Kiwon Lee 6-4, 6-0 while Paul Jang won the Men’s Singles 4 title in a dominant performance against Cody Shimizu 6-1, 6-2.
