FLOR Jones won the CNMI Women’s Golf Association April and annual tournaments held on April 9 and 10, 2022 at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
On April 9, Jones took the east course with ease as she closed the 18 holes with a net score of 69 to clinch the April ace title.
The toughest part of the course was the front nine where she committed four bogeys. However, she maintained a steady swing to end 9-over par with a gross of 45.
She played better on the back nine, sinking one birdie on hole #16, to clinch a gross score of 40.
With a gross total of 85 and a handicap of 16, Jones’ net was 69.
In second place was Clara Chang with a net score of 76 followed by Sae Hee Kim with a net score of 79.
On the following day, April 10, CWGA held its annual golf tournament at LaoLao’s west course.
This time, Jones focused on tightening her swing, completing the front nine with a gross score of 43 and shooting 44 on the back nine for a gross total of 87. With a handicap of 19, her net score was 68.
Terry Guerrero shared the same net score, but in the score card playoffs, Jones had the advantage as her gross total was 87 while Guerrero had 89.
CWGA also awarded its overall top golfers utilizing a one-year point system. Yi Su Jeong was ranked no.1 with a total of 128 points. Sherlyn Jones was in second place with 126 points while Lorraine Babauta was third with 116 points.
In addition, CWGA celebrated its 15th year.
