FMS bags another win in interscholastic basketball

FRANCISCO M. Sablan Middle School notched another win in the Girls Middle School Division of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League after powering past Saipan International School, 18-3, Wednesday at the Marianas High School gym.

Rosie Saralu once again displayed her skills, scoring six points in the first half while teammate Kohane Nishimura chipped in a bucket for an 8-0 lead by halftime.

SIS finally broke through with Lya Kim and Keylie Claveria combining for three points.

However, that was the end of the line for SIS as FMS’ Teneasha Diaz reignited her  team’s momentum with a bucket while Saralu continued her reign with four consecutive shots to score a total  of 14 points as FMS outgunned SIS, 18-3.

In other matches

Tanapag Middle School also performed well in pummeling Hopwood Middle School 2, 16-3.

Erica Zandueta showcased her skills with the ball as she drained the first six points for TMS against HOP2 which could only score a point.

In the second half, both teams picked up the pace defensively but neither could find their rhythm and ended up scoring two points each, with TMS securing the win, 16-3.

Dandan Middle School had the toughest battle of the day but managed to slip past Grace Christian Academy School, 18-17, while HOP1 routed Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 20-2.
