FRANK Castro claimed the final 2021 Ace of the Month title of the Saipan Golf Association by topping its tournament on Dec. 12, 2021 at Kingfisher Golf Links.
Among the 11 participating golfers, Castro reigned supreme on the front nine with a gross of 41. He struggled on the back nine with a gross of 53 for a total gross of 94, but his 16 handicap gave him a net score of 78 and the December ace title.
SGA’s other 2021 Ace of the Month winners are Das Krishnan (January), Joe I. Sablan (February), Frances M. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Tony Benavente (May), Ed Manibusan (June), Nick Sablan (July), Jung Eun Teack (August), Larry Deleon Guerrero (September), Alex Tudela (October) and Mariano Fajardo (November).
Castro also won the Closest to the Pin Award on hole #6. The other side-event winners were Joe Sablan on hole #8; Rick Kautz, hole #12; and Nick Sablan, hole #15.
Kautz likewise earned the Longest Drive Award on hole #7 while Alex Tudela received the same award on hole #10.
The next SGA event is the 2021 Ace of Aces Tournament which will be held at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort on Saturday, Jan. 22, and Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022.
Tee time is at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., respectively. Show time for day 1 will be at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. for day 2. Day 2 will also be the January 2022 Ace of the Month tournament.
