IT’S almost that time of the year for Saipan’s most colorful event, the Hafa Adai 5K. This year, there will be 2,000 slots for participants and the proceeds will benefit the Northern Marianas Humanities Council. The event will take to the streets of San Antonio on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 6:30 a.m.
It is the Northern Marianas Humanities Council’s mission to navigate and explore the human experiences of the indigenous and diverse peoples of the Commonwealth by enriching their lives through research, dialogue, programs, and publications.
Once again, PIC has partnered with a number of sponsors to help make this 5K as successful as possible. Among them are: E-Land Group, Kensington Hotel Saipan, Coral Ocean Resort, Bridge Capital, Marpac, and All-Star Sporting Goods
Aside from helping the Northern Marianas Humanities Council, the participants will also be entered into a post-race raffle and are welcome to join in some fun and games for awesome prizes. These include annual memberships to PIC Saipan along with lunches, Sunday brunches, gym memberships and many more!
The most participants from every school level will receive a $300 gift certificate from PIC in partnership with All-Star Sporting Goods. The school levels are high school, middle school and elementary. PIC supports sports in schools to help keep students healthy.
The 5K event will start and finish at PIC Saipan and will feature five different coloring stations along the Beach Road route. Participants are encouraged to wear white so that the full effect of the colors can be seen post-race. Volunteers will be celebrating each runner’s arrival by greeting them with “holi powder.” This is biodegradable mixture of corn starch and food coloring.
Entry fees are $10 and $15 on race day. Entry forms for the Hafa Adai 5K can be found in the PIC lobby. Registration on race day will be in the PIC south parking lot starting at 5 a.m. The first 1,000 paid entries will receive a Hafa Adai 5K limited edition t-shirt! Don’t wait! Get registered now!
