MARSHALL Hoskins and Denise Myers topped their respective divisions in Run Saipan’s Third Underground 5K event, Friday, on Mount Tapochao.
Participants had to round the base of the mountain before making their way to the island’s highest point.
In the men’s division, Marshall Hoskins powered his way through the challenge, clocking at 26:43:00 to claim the top spot.
He was nearly five minutes ahead of Matt Murphy who crossed the finish line at 30:18:00 followed by Leith Poole at 30:53:00.
In fourth and fifth were Travis Spaeth, 31:20:00; and Sildrey Veloria, 31:58:00.
Coming in sixth overall and first in the women’s division was Denise Myers with a time of 33:45:00. Young runner Tiana Cabrera was second with a time of 34:29:00 and was followed by Ayano Braxton who clocked in at 34:44:00.
Filling the top five were Yuki Rechucher with a time of 38:44:00 and Anastasia Dela Cruz at 39:01:00.
Monthly events
Run Saipan’s Edward Dela Cruz said their first 5K’s event was held in February on Beach Road while the second race in March took place in the former Mariana Resort area.
He said next month’s race will be held on Beach Road while the June race will take place at Banzai Cliff.
