IT&E on Thursday announced that it was donating more than $120,000 worth of internet infrastructure, technical support, communication services, and post-production assistance to the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022.
“We would like to thank IT&E as our official broadcasting service provider,” NMPMG2022 CEO Vicente “Ben” Babauta said.
“You guys have been very supportive since day one — a year ago,” he added.
“As the pioneer telco company in the CNMI, IT&E embraces this opportunity to ‘Rise Up To The Challenge’ and make significant contributions that are essential to hosting a successful event. IT&E is excited to be a Platinum Sponsor and witness this historical event,” IT&E said in a statement.
“The Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games will have a positive impact for both the participating athletes and all our island communities. Sports have a way of forging connections and friendships. We’re proud to do our part so that viewers in the region and around the world will be able to take part from afar,” said Rose Soledad, IT&E’s CNMI general manager.
Each of the Mini Games’ venues will have wi-fi for the athletes thanks to IT&E, Babauta said.
“Having access to the internet in all venues as well as in the media center will keep spectators around the world updated with live video feed and results,” Soledad said. “We are behind you; we are here to support you and good luck!”
IT&E Customer Service and Government Relations Manager Janice Tenorio said they are “very happy to participate as a sponsor. We’ve been in the community doing business for over 35 years, and we feel happy to rise up to the challenge.”
Also present during the announcement of IT&E’s donation at its Oleai headquarters were Head of Network Velma Palacios, Marketing Manager Natasha Tomokane, Network Element Activision Team Members Zack Cruz and Jesse Deleon Guerrero, and Customer Operations Supervisor Laarni Zapanta.
The 2022 Pacific Mini Games will be hosted by the CNMI from June 17 to 25.
