Ken Song, Gabrielle Race top 3000m Open race

KEN Song and Gabrielle Race topped the 3000m event in their respective divisions during the second meet of the Northern Marianas Athletics Open Track and Field on Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex.

In the open men’s division, Ken Song led the pack with a finish time of 11:48.80. Coming in second was Edward Dela Cruz who clocked at 11:56.18 followed by Jalen Lucido with a time of 13:35.70. Simon Necesito finished fourth at 19:56.07.

In the open women’s division, Gabrielle Race reigned with a finish time of 12:58.98 while Denise Myers settled for second place with a time of 13:03.46.

In the U18 male division, Sildrey Veloria was first with a time of 12:29.60 while Tiana Cabrera crossed the finish line with a time of 12:45.68 to top the U18 female division.

Kasuke Sato was the lone runner in the men’s masters 50 age group, clocking an impressive time of 11:20.60 while Ron Snyder topped the masters 55-59 age group with a finish time of 14:39.42.

Chong Nam Lee, who runs barefoot, was the lone runner in the 60-and-above race, which he finished with a time of 13:38.21 while Juanita Fajardo ruled the women’s 60-and-above masters division with a time of 19:58.38.
