2 NMI fighters to see actions in Asia

Jordan “Jungle Boy” Ogo from Team Haga Ogo will be seeing action for the title belt in the pin weight division of the Universal Reality Combat Championships 17 Havoc that will be held at the A-Avenue Events Center in Makati Philippines on July 24.

He will face Roy “The Punisher” Docyogen, the Philippine’s current undisputed champion in the said division.

“Kill” Bill Saures will be competing in the ESPN STAR’S Martial MMA Combat in Singapore on July 15. He will fight Korean fighter- Joo Su Lim in the 205 lbs weight class.

Alvarez said he received an email from URCC match maker Willy “Chef” Carlos last month asking for a Saipan fighter in the 110 to 115 lbs class with an unblemished fighting record.

“So I went through my fighters list and immediately took notice of Jordan Ogo,” Alvarez said adding that the Team Haga’s top gun is exactly 115 lbs and is undefeated in three fights.

“So the choice was perfect,” he said.

Jordan Alvarez said has been training six days a week at Trench Tech in preparation for the title shot.

“This will not be an easy fight for Jordan, as he is going up against the country’s undisputed Pin Weight Champ, but he is excited for the opportunity and will definitely fight his heart out. Of course we aren’t promising that he will win, but we do promise that he will put up a great fight and fight for the victory,” Alvarez said.

Last week, Alvarez added, he got another email from email from Victor Cui, fight director for ESPN Star.com and Martial Combat Singapore. It was actually a last-minute replacement fight for an injured fighter originally scheduled.

“They were looking for a stand up fighter in the 205 lbs weight area to face Korea’s Joo Su Lim. So I asked a few local fighters in that weight category, but only “Kill” Bill Saures was able to take leave in such short notice, so he took the fight,” Alvarez said.

“Kill” Bill, he said has been training at Trench Tech over the past few weeks and will try his best to represent the CNMI in the Asian city-state.

“Best of luck to ALL the fighters who will be fighting in ROP 9 and most especially to the two local boys who will be representing the CNMI in the URCC in the Philippines and in Martial Combat in Singapore,” Alvarez said.
