THE 4th annual Michelob Ultra Beer Mile, sponsored by Run Saipan, will be held this Saturday at Marianas Beach Resort, coinciding with various sporting events of the Budweiser Burger Fest.

The rules of the Beer Mile are simple: drink one beer, run 400 meters; drink another beer, run 400 meters; drink a third beer, run 400 meters; drink a fourth beer, and then take another 400-meter loop to finish the course.

The same rules apply to the newly added Beer Sprint event — the wildest race of the year —  but with a shorter distance of 150 meters and three total sprints. Participants will chug a beer at the starting line, then sprint to the finish in a short, high-energy dash. It’s speed meets suds in this hilarious and unpredictable event, where the real challenge isn’t just the run — it’s keeping it down.

Open to ages 21 and over, this event promises good vibes, big laughs, and a whole lot of fun. Whether you’re racing or cheering from the sidelines, you won’t want to miss it.

Due to a venue change this year and the narrow course path, the race will not be a single mass start. Instead, participants will be able to run the Beer Mile or Beer Sprint anytime between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., with the fastest times announced at the awards ceremony hosted by Marpac during the Burger Fest.

Categories and pricing:

$25 – Beer Sprint

$25 – Beer Mile

$100 – Corporate Challenge (4×4 relay team)

All finishers will receive a Run Saipan beer mug.

Run Saipan’s advice to participants? “Pace yourselves — those who drink too fast or run too hard and lose part of their drinks on the course will have to run an additional lap to finish the race.”
