Another round complete in Rocball

Regular season games will be completed in the last week of December. Upon completion, four teams will be eliminated and a new eight-team round robin schedule will begin. In the new schedule, each team will play seven more games to determine the final four.

In team standings the Teachers are ahead with five wins and no losses. Team Aim Low, Give-a-Hoot, and Roc It are tied for second place at four wins and one loss each. Alpha Q sits in third place with three wins and two losses. Balls of Fury, Dream Team, Geeks, and Just-do-It are tied in fourth place with one win and four losses. G-Sparks and Lay Low are also tied for fifth place while IDK has no wins with five losses.

In team statistics, Aim Low has the best two-point serve record with 25 aces and xunks. The Teachers is the best backcourt scoring team with 25 two-point kees. Alpha Q scored four goals in five games.

The best two-point server is Jonathan Inacio of Dream Team with 13 two-point serves. The Teachers’ Nick Gross currently has 10 kees while Tyce Mister and Damart Teregeyo have the best jams. The best in three-point goals are Dream Team’s Jonathan Inacio and Lay Low’s Icemwar Somorong.

In round five action, Alpha Q juiced Balls of Fury, 30-21, Give-a-Hoot juiced IDK, 40-28, the Teachers downed Lay Low, 36-12, and Aim Low crushed the Geeks, 38-16.

Two games went into overtime, or in Rocball jargon: ‘over-set.’ Team Just-do-It was forced into overtime by IDK. Just-Do-It’s Wilton Laniyo scored a goal on the first serve of the first overtime set to win the game.

In the second game, Jason Limes of Roc It secured the court by scoring a goal in the first overtime set.

An overtime set is won through six points or a goal — whichever is scored first. The team that scored the most game points but lost their third set needs to win one overtime set. The team that won the third set with the least amount of points needs to win two overtime sets.
