The double elimination tournament will feature seven weight classes and some of the most prominent mixed martial arts athletes on island. Matches start at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.
Among those competing are: Gorilla Warfare MMA’s middleweight champion Keli Manglona, Trench Tech’s heavyweight Mylo Lassiter, Slade Adelbai, Giovanni Sablan, Brad Palacios, Shane and Alverick Alvarez, and Derick Rangamar.
Current weight classes are: bantamweight (115-135 lbs), featherweight (136-145 lbs), lightweight (146-155 lbs), welterweight (156-170 lbs), middleweight (171-185 lbs), light heavy (186-205 lbs), and heavyweight (206 lbs and above).
Competitors from Guam are also expected at the event, with some representing Pound Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy headed by head instructor Luis Blanco.
Winners in each category will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals.
