ASAHI remains the top dog in the masters division of the 2025 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League with 14 wins after taking down the Eagle Rays, 13–2, in last Sunday’s game at the Dandan ball field.

Asahi started strong by showcasing their defensive prowess, quickly retiring the Eagle Rays with three outs while stranding a runner on second base. On offense, they took control early, scoring four runs — highlighted by Byron Kaipat’s two-run homer — to take a 4–0 lead.

The Eagle Rays again fell short in the top of the second, leaving another runner on second. Asahi capitalized in the bottom half, wreaking havoc on the basepaths with three steals that translated into runs, stretching their lead to 7–0.

It was more of the same in the next two innings, as the Eagle Rays were held hitless. Meanwhile, Asahi maintained their momentum, with Suo Matsutaro leading a four-run rally in the bottom of the third. They tacked on two more runs in the fourth to push the lead into double digits, 13–0.

With the 10-run mercy rule looming, the Eagle Rays had one final chance to stay in the game. They showed signs of life by scoring two runs in the top of the fifth. However, Asahi quickly shut the door with a double play followed by a pickoff to seal their 14th win of the season.

Also celebrating victories were Cholos Familia, who defeated Whassup, 11–2, and Tokahao, who cruised past Hagu Lamun, 13–2.
