Aurelio who helped control the offense with a lot of inside play attempts found himself investing in penalty shots almost through out the ball game, basketing a total of 13 free throws.
The game went neck-to-neck as early as the first half Moonlight as Arjay Nonato and Chris Camacho carried the team together. They kept pace with Navy Hill towards the end of the third quarter but passing errors and a series of missed shots held them back in the middle of the final period.
Marlon Cabrera connected a three-point play to help protect the lead in the second quarter and sizzled with 15 points.
Jason Palacios also completed a foul-driven three-point play and hit a three-pointer.
After Aurelio’s free throw in the final few seconds of the game, Roland Tengco basketed a two-pointer to secure their win.
NVM 78, Strikers 74
Jessie Mina scattered 32 points in the court as he and Adonis Macoto led NVM against the Strikers for their four-point victory.
Macoto who fired a pair of two-pointers early in the game chipped in 22 points.
Strikers closed-in in midway to the ball game with Jhames Camacho’s fourth quarter scoring streak including a three-pointer.
NVM however managed to put clamps to Strikers’ offense as Macoto and Mina went on to surge and the NVM defended their lead all the way to the ball game.
