Jeromie Hill led Australia’s shooting spree connecting a total of his 22 shots to help maintain the wide gap all the way to the buzzer and pound CNMI, 107-41.
The game however, prompted CNMI’s Jericho Cruz and Jomary Tumaquip bring out their very best as they managed to basket face to face with much taller opponents.
Kelvin Fitial’s jump shot and Jericho Cruz’ lay up inched CNMI up eight minutes of the second half but Hill’s two consecutive fast breaks, Sean Mullan’s dunk and Jan Warbout’s three-pointer nailed CNMI to 25 points.
Charles Johnson had break- away after that, then, Cruz stole the ball back to the offensive and fired a jump shot against Warbout.
Warbout basketed his second three-point shot for which Cruz retaliated with a tap-board lay up.
Four minutes to the ball game, Jeromie Hill dunked again, then, with the help from Reece Maxwell and Bajamin Purser nailed CNMI to 36 until Cruz picked up a foul and made his two free throws.
Barcinas stole it back and went unopposed with his jump shot.
Purser got fouled, hit one of the two attempts and Maxwell fired the final two points.
