Team the Ayuyus only slipped past COPSSA by four shaky points after Sahj Hossain and Savali Talalemotu each garnered two points during the last crucial seconds of the game.
During the first half of the bout the Ayuyus slipped past COPSSA by a hairline. Mount Carmel School’s Min Seong Kim collared 10 points in his effort to keep the lead away from the defending champs.
Unfortunately for Kim the Ayuyus had several offensive plays up their sleeve to secure the lead under their belts. Savali Talalemotu bagged six points while teammate Ichitaro Faisao scored six points as well.
Kagman High’s Frank Mettao sliced through COPSSA’s defense barriers to deliver a clean lay-up shot to advance past them by a point.
During the second half of the game the Ayuyus stepped it up a notch to hand the upset to COPSSA. Talalemotu was seen on the arena once more to score 10 more points for his team sealing the game in his team’s favor, 39-35.

During the fourth game scheduled for the day the 2010-2011 MISO basketball girl’s champion team went face to face with team Settsu Red Impulse to leave them behind 29-26.
The Settsu girls proved to be a tough competitor on the court as they gave the MISO champs a run for their money.
Maki Maeike opened the first half of the game for the red Impulse with a three pointer shot followed by a neatly executed lay up shot. Teammate Nanami Hashimoto then jumped into the winning band wagon by collaring five points.
Marianas High School refused to be left behind and center player Ira Palero scored six points for Saipan.
Jeralyn Castillo, Deedra Santos, Jaime Mendoza, and Lily Williams each scored two points to give MHS the edge it needed to beat the international team, 16-14.
Center woman Ira Palero stepped it up a notch upon entering the second half of the game. She then contributed her six pence to defeat the Red Impulse, 29-26.
