Arnold Mesa, sports coordinator of BANMI, said he has not yet received a single registrant for the caging clinic which he will spearhead at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium this weekend.
The basketball clinic, Mesa explained, is in preparation to the BANMI basketball Masters League which will compose of 35-above and 45-above divisions.
The said Masters caging league will open on November 25, Tuesday, at Ada Gym.
Mesa said he intends to launch the clinic on two weekends, depending on the number of basketball players who have settled their membership fee.
The membership fee is pegged at $25.
Earlier, Mesa mentioned the membership fee is different from the entrance fee for the upcoming league. The entry fee costs $500 per team.
So far, there are five teams that will be playing in the 35-above and another five teams for the 45-above divisions.
The two caging divisions will have simultaneous schedule – 35-above division will play on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and 45-above will play at 8 p.m.
Accordingly, both divisions will have a switch of game time on Thursdays.
Mesa added that the basketball clinic aims to prepare and orient players of the BANMI Masters caging league as to its rules and regulations.
He pointed out the league will observe strictly FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules, which is different from the National Basketball Association, Philippine Basketball Association, National Collegiate Athletic Association, and other major basketball organizations.
