BEN Jones Sr. started the new year strong by securing the Amigos Golf Club’s January Ace of the Month title with a net score of 135 at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s west course.
Jones played exceptionally well throughout the two-day tournament.
In the qualifying round, Jones displayed decent placements and smooth finishes on the green to end with a gross score of 85. Backed by a handicap of 17, his net score was 68.
In the ace round on Sunday, Jones nearly mirrored his initial performance but with a slight improvement as he ended with a gross of 84 and a net score of 67.
With a combined net score of 135, Jones secured the top spot by five strokes to claim the January Ace of the Month title.
In the optional play, the par 3 winners were Frank Sablan for hole #4, Joe Sasamoto for hole #6, Al Aldan for hole #11, and Jay Muna for hole #15.
