Bennett, a current student at Boise State University, scored gold for the CNMI after clocking in at 57.66 seconds in the women’s 400-meter event.
She defeated Papua New Guinea’s Venessa Waro and Guam’s Naomi Blaz, both of whom came in at 57.85 and 60.12 seconds, respectively.
Bennett earned a bronze medal in the women’s 100m sprint at 12.59 seconds, following Australia’s Madeleine Powell (12.34) and PNG’s Helen Philemon (12.58). She also won third place in the women’s 200m event with 25.7 seconds.
Her times in both the 100 and 200-meter categories shattered her records in the CNMI and Micronesia.
Kenty, who flew to Samoa with Sylvan Rangamar and Jonavin Ichihara, bagged a bronze medal in the men’s 110m hurdles event with 17.43 seconds.
He trailed PNG’s Reginald Monagi (16.4) and Guam’s Michael Herreros (17.31). Kenty set his personal record in the men’s 400m hurdles at 61.28 seconds.
Meanwhile, Kagman High School student David Lizama and junior netter Mikayla Lopez received the Male and Female Student Athlete of the Month award.
In June, Lizama was recognized for having the heaviest catch –a 12.34 lb. sweetlips – during the 5th Annual Spearfishing Tournament at Smiling Cove Marina.
Overall, Lizama ranked third with Team Salty’s Robert and Manny Norita at 61.8 lbs.
Mikayla Lopez dominated the girls 15-and-under singles division in the North Pacific Qualifying Event in Guam. She went undefeated at seven wins, beating fellow CNMI netter Melody Johnson (6-1, 3-6, 6-3) in the finals round.
Lopez and Johnson conquered Guam’s Camdyn Nadler and Annette Kang, 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the girls 15U doubles title.
