BIO-PRO and Lamesa Kusina triumphed over their respective opponents in the Destroyers Friendly Games League at the TSL Sports Complex on Saturday night.
Bio-Pro outlasted NAPA, 113-104.
Both teams filled the opening half with endless exchanges.
Bio-Pro’s offense was orchestrated by Patrick Morales who was effective from nearly anywhere on the court, delivering 24 points.
On the other end, NAPA matched up with a heavy focus on long-ranged buckets. Dick Tibayan and Alken Ege were the main contributors in the bombardment from beyond the arc, sinking five and four triples, respectively.
However, Bio-Pro’s Ed “Pitbull” Guinto aided Morales with 14 points to give their team the advantage going into halftime, 74-68.
In the second half, fatigue started to affect both teams, but the back-and-forth action continued.
This time, it was Bio-Pro that thrived from the three-point line led by Mark Matuguina who made a total of eight shots to keep them afloat.
NAPA turned their attention toward the paint where Jorge De Guzman excelled with 12 points scored alongside Ramuel Agusto. However, some ill-timed turnovers and missed shots kept them trailing behind, handing Bio-Pro a handful of fastbreak opportunities and the win, 113-104.
In its next game, however, Bio-Pro lost to the Elite Force, 97-110.
For their part, Lamesa Kusina outscored Yabangis, 91-69. Jun Hernandez carried Lamesa Kusina to victory with 31 points, including nine three-pointers.
