THE Blue Jays prolonged their winning streak in the 2024 SBL Masters League by pulling a mid-game rally to defeat the Falcons, 16-6, at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Tuesday night.

The Falcons took flight early in the ball game as Bruce Norita and Mario Aguon opened the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the first and earned an RBI each along the way for a 2-0 lead.

Throughout the next two innings, the Blue Jays created several scoring opportunities, but were thwarted each time. For their part, the Falcons suffered the same fate and were shut out.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Falcons regained their footing with four runs as they capitalized off defensive errors with Andave Camacho, Jess Pua, and Mario Aguon recording an RBI each. Their reign was short-lived, however, as they also fell into a defensive drought in the bottom half, which was marred with wild pitches that allowed the Blue Jays to score 10 runs and take control, 10-6.

The Falcons still had a chance to catch up, but they only reached second base before being handed three outs.

The Blue Jays, on the other hand, continued to thrive off the errors, adding six more runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game early via the 10-run rule, 16-6.

Shawn Matsutaro and Alvin Takai led the stats sheet by going 3 for 3 at bat with one RBI each.
