Blue Jays rout Comets, 12-1

THE Blue Jays continue to soar high in the Major Division of the 2025 Saipan Little League Baseball after nearly silencing the Comets, 12-1, at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Baseball Field on Sunday.

The Blue Jays’ pitcher, Jay Sablan, was a force to be reckoned with on the mound, quickly retiring the top half of the opening inning with two strikeouts and a pickoff at third. However, his team struggled offensively, going down in order in the bottom half.

In the top of the second inning, the Comets broke the silence when Treavan Manglona singled to bring home Gavin Deleon Guerrero, giving his team a 1-0 lead.

But the Comets were quickly overshadowed by the Blue Jays, who responded with a flurry of runs. With Comets pitcher Jessie Reyes struggling to find the strike zone, the Blue Jays took control with a six-run surge — most of it coming on walks. Scott Muna and Jessiah Laniyo added to the onslaught with a two-RBI single and an RBI single, respectively, pushing the lead to 7-1.

Neither team scored in the third inning, but the Blue Jays reignited their momentum in the bottom of the fourth, plating five runs — highlighted by Muna’s two-RBI double — to end the game early via the 10-run mercy rule, 12-1.

Winner’s circle

Joining the winner’s circle were the Braves, who outplayed the Ol’Aces, 12-2, and the Dodgers, who outlasted the Falcons 1, 14-11.
