THE Braves clinched the Majors Division pennant of the 2025 Saipan Little League Baseball season after finishing the regular season undefeated, capping it with a 7-1 win over the Comets at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Ballfield on Saturday.
The teams started off on equal footing, with the Comets recording three consecutive pickoffs, while Braves pitcher Nate Nekai struck out three batters in a row to quickly close the opening inning.
In the top of the second inning, Damien Sablan’s single turned into a Braves run after a fielding error. In the bottom half, Nekai continued his dominance on the mound, striking out three more batters to preserve the slim 1-0 lead.
As the game progressed, the Braves continued to thrive offensively, adding three more runs by the fifth inning. Following a pitching change, Damien Sablan proved just as effective on the mound to keep the Comets scoreless, 4-0. He would strike out a total of seven batters.
In the top of the sixth and final inning, the Braves tacked on three more runs to extend their lead. In the bottom half, they were on the verge of closing out the Comets with two strikeouts already recorded. However, Gavin Deleon Guerrero broke the silence with a solo home run before the Comets went down swinging in a 7-1 loss.
