Braves rout Dodgers, clinch major division title, undefeated

THE Braves not only claimed the major division title after trouncing the Dodgers, 13-1, they also ended the 2025 Saipan Little League Baseball undefeated at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Ballfield on Sunday.

Leading the Braves’ dominant performance was pitcher Dayton Marchadesch, who notched 12 strikeouts in the championship game.

In the top of the first inning, Marchadesch allowed only one hit before striking out three batters.

On offense, the Braves picked their shots carefully and were rewarded with four runs — Damian Sablan’s RBI triple and RBI singles from Dylan Barcinas and Elijah Babauta — giving them a 4-0 lead.

The Braves maintained their defensive dominance as the Dodgers failed to record a single hit. Marchadesch struck out two more batters and recorded the third out with a pickoff at first. For their part, the Dodgers managed to limit the Braves to just one run in the bottom half, keeping the score at 5-0 and staying within reach.

The Dodgers’ efforts seemed in vain, as two more batters struck out in the top of the third inning, while the Braves added five runs in the bottom half to extend their lead to 10-0.

In the top of the fourth, the Dodgers finally broke their silence as Joshua McDonald capitalized on an outfield error to score a solo run. However, the Braves quickly responded with three more runs, with Roque Camacho and Ralph Magofna each contributing an RBI single to restore their comfortable lead, 13-1.

The Dodgers had one last chance to stay in the game, but the Braves quickly shut the door, securing the final three outs to seal the victory and claim the major division title.
