CHANGMING Market extended their win streak to four games after outlasting Priority Care, 71-67, in the open division of the 2025 IT&E-United Filipino Organization Basketball League at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Wednesday.
Keith Santos entered the game trigger-happy, making his presence known within the opening minutes of the first half by firing three consecutive shots from beyond the arc to establish control for Changming.
On the other end, Priority Care’s Francisco Mizutani and Steve King each knocked down a three-pointer, while Matthew Duenas provided support in the paint with seven straight points, as both teams battled through several lead changes.
Amid the back-and-forth showdown, Changming maintained the upper hand with strong defensive coverage, while Coby Santos and Rodel Pastrana orchestrated the offense, combining for 16 points to give their team a comfortable 43-34 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Priority Care turned on the sirens in an attempt to stage a rally. Mizutani picked up where he left off, reopening the scoreboard with a layup and three triples to close the gap. But Changming had an answer, as Keith and Coby Santos continued to punish defenders with their all-around play.
In the final minutes of the game, both teams engaged in a heated exchange, trading clutch shots and defensive stops on both ends of the court.
As the dust settled, the consistency and reliability of Coby Santos and Rodel Pastrana in crunch time proved undeniable, as they finished with seven and eight points, respectively, to seal Changming Market’s 71–67 victory.
In the masters division, the Water Front Oasis took down the Eagles, 82-55.
