Cycling booth a success

The cycling booth was a success and a lot of people along with the interested community came out and attended the health fair.

There was a presentation on the previous Hell of the Marianas race last year and a presentation of the 2010 Tour De France.

There were successful lessons and try outs on cycle training on bike spinner rollers. There were available lessons on basic bike repair such as tire change, how to keep your bike like new, basic bike maintenance, safety rules, bike adjustment/ fit, how to change a tire, how to climb hills, common mistakes by new cyclists, and cycling stretches.

There were pamphlets on how to keep safe on the roads and Share the Road copies passed out on the day of the fair.

Also a group of interested in practicing the entire route for the up coming Hell of the Marianas met up at the booth to organize a fun ride that kicked off yesterday starting at the Hyatt regency Saipan.

Other volunteers helped out by  spending a couple of hours helping and manning the booth, hosting cycling related activities and ideas and passing out pamphlets to the community.

Special thanks are being extended out to Brad Ruszala and the Pacific Islands Club for offering to print out bicycle safety pamphlets for the community.
