THE D-9ers came out swinging under the lights at the Oleai Sports Complex on Monday night, powering past the Orioles, 9-4, to collect their very first win in the 2025 Saipan Baseball League at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.

The D-9ers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, plating two runs in the opening inning. Trevon Camacho led off with a double and was brought in by MJ Sakisat, who was picked off along the way. Another run came in with the help of John Acosta, giving the D-9ers a quick 2–0 lead.

In the bottom half, the Orioles replied with a solo run off an RBI single by Ryan Ada, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

After a scoreless second inning, the D-9ers struck again in the top of the third, with Sakisat stealing home. In the bottom half, the Orioles equalized on an inside-the-park home run by Verlance Secharmidal, closing the gap to 3-2.

But with each passing inning, it was the D-9ers who thrived on offense, adding two more runs while limiting the Orioles to just one after five complete innings for a 5-3 lead.

In the top of the seventh and final inning, the D-9ers put the game out of reach with a four-run rally. Josiah Lizama led off with a single, followed by a walk, and both runners were brought in by Camacho’s two-RBI single. Camacho and Joe Atalig then crossed the plate to extend the lead to 9-3.

The Orioles tried to rally in their final at-bat, pushing across one run, but the D-9ers secured the final three outs to lock in their first win of the season, 9-4.
