DANDAN Middle School bagged their second consecutive blowout victory by outplaying Saipan International School, 40-21, in the boys middle school division of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League SY 23-24 on Wednesday at the Marianas High School gym.

Both teams were highly skilled as they filled the first half with several exchanges.

DMS relied on their variety of offensive options. Dane Tibayan led the first five minutes of the opening half with nine points, including one three-pointer.

SIS were led by Theo Joab and Jude Rayphand, but they lacked the support needed to counter a DMS onslaught spearheaded by Jaden Andrew and Edward Manibusan, who combined for 17 points to stretch their lead, 28-14.

In the second half, fatigue was a factor in SIS’ output as Joab and Rayphand could only score from the free-throw line after drawing fouls.

DMS, for their part, kept the momentum burning as Zion Rogopes and Austin Camacho stepped up to take over the highlight reel and lead their team to victory, 40-21.
