TRUE North Cherry Popperz extended their winning streak in the Chichirika C division of the 2025 SEDA Bud Light Dart League, narrowly defeating Last Shot Hobbies Score Horse, 8-7, at the True North Bar on Wednesday night.
The match began with both teams trading points. Cherry Popperz’s Zach Babauta drew first blood with a 16.72 PPD, claiming the first game of the opening 301 Double In/Double Out set. Score Horse’s Marc Brian Nelvis evened the score, setting the first tie of the match.
Cherry Popperz’s Abby Babauta claimed the third game with an 18.85 PPD, but Score Horse’s Drake Taitano took the fourth, keeping the match tied at 2-2.
In pairs, Score Horse gained the edge as Joe Jack and Nelvis, along with Tyron Celis and Taitano, swept the Partners Crazy Cricket set, 2-0. Their advantage was short-lived, however, as Cherry Popperz’s Zach and Abby Babauta, joined by Trevor “Mafia” Ogumoro and Edwin “Speedy” Camacho, responded with a two-win sweep in the Partners 501 set to tie the match at 4-4.
The back-and-forth battle continued, with each team splitting the Singles Regular Cricket set and the Partners Half-It set, keeping the score tied at 7-7.
In the final Team 1101 game, Cherry Popperz’s teamwork proved decisive, allowing them to outscore Score Horse and secure the game-winning point, taking the match 8-7.
Also winning on Wednesday night were Bistro High Breeder, who defeated Spicy Thai Bwiibwiis 9-6, and True North Truly Busahi, who topped True North Prime Jitsu by the same score.
