The Hustlers had four base hits with Tim Deleon Guerrero hitting an RBI double before D-9ers starting pitcher, Peter Lieto finished them off with his third strike out in the top of the first inning.
But Hustlers’ pitcher, McGarett Duenas had the D-9ers pay for that in the bottom of the first.
After striking out Ben Lizama,
Duenas completed a double play by striking out Peter Lieto while allowing catcher, Anthony Taitano and short stopper Jeremy Lizama throw out KC Misa in the second base.
The game heated up as Lieto sought revenge by holding the Hustlers scoreless in the next two straight innings striking out four.
Hustlers’ Duenas got back at Lieto striking him out for the second time in the bottom of the third and allowed only one base hit for the Hustlers to keep the lead. McGarett had two more strike outs towards the third inning before Jeremy Lizama replaced him on the mound and struck out five to keep the D-9ers runless in the third and fourth innings.
Tim Rabago doubled before Manny Flores moved him to scoring position in an error on the left field then Kenta Castro knocked-in a run-scoring single.
After stealing third, Castro himself scored run on a catching error before Jonakim hit the devastating three-run home run.
With Zachary Aldan hitting an RBI single and Matt Mafnas driving in run, the D-9ers cut the lead 10 in the bottom of the fifth but Hustlers’ reliever, Lizama ended their hope to recover by striking out Joaquin Pua.
