Dolphins, Peleliu to meet in Belau Masters finals

Gene Weaver connected a two-run double to strengthen the lead against Trubak in the six-run first inning then, the Dolphins did not look back to ensure their 14-2 victory.

Newman Techur led off a double before Pepi Tenorio drove him in with a sacrifice fly and Ivan Igitol knocked in a run-scoring single.

Jack Diaz and Stan Techur also fired run-scoring single.

Perry Besong gave in a three- run triple off Wally Emul but the Dolphins fielded fly balls and land drives stranding Trubak base runners in scoreless four innings.

Besong gave in 10 hits but allowed only two runs. He struck out one in the final inning.

Diaz rocketed a run-scoring home run as the Dolphins kept lambasting Trubak in the second inning.

Ed Kapileo doubled for his two RBIs and finished 3-for-3, Tenorio drove in a run with his triple and Jess Omar and Igitol knocked in a run-scoring single as they both went 2-for-2.

Peleliu 8, Salty Boys 1

The Peleliu fielders held the Salty Boys scoreless in six straight innings and Henry Litulumar fired a three-run homer in the second stunning the defending champions with an 8-1 win.

Peleliu which was in the No. 5 position at the end of the regular season came from behind when they defeated fourth ranked Choll Aces, 7-4 during the play off match to earn the semi final slot.

During yesterday’s game, Peleliu fielders kept the bases empty in the third inning. At bat, the Peleliu sluggers pounded Salty Boys with base hits including Litulumar’s three-run home run.

Poland Masaharu sliced a run-scoring single and Charley Kenty fired a two-run double in the fifth inning.  

Sylvanus Santos and James Kintol who both singled moved to scoring positions and batted home to widen the gap and handed the Peleliu its championship berth.
