Duenas breaks tie, Legislature hands CPA 7th loss

Before the tie-breaking two-points, Duenas and Joel Punzalan    mounted the winning rally from third quarter all the way to final to help Legislature creep back from 3-6 standing.

Duenas scattered 21 points in the fourth quarter to finish with a total of 33 points for Legislature.

Punzalan hibernated in the second quarter before he exploded with three-pointers in the third to maintain the lead.

Ray Duenas scored 13 points, Ray Guerrero added nine points and Dave Apatang, eight points.

Jerome Reyes who carried CPA single handedly finished with 37 points from consistently basketing two-pointers.

Autonomous 109, DPW 96

Ed Diaz and Bob Coldeen established a strong lead in the first quarter and did not look back to lead Autonomous upset the struggling Department of Public Works in the second game.

Edgar Pangelinan’s unstoppable three-pointer however, did stop Autonomous from leaving them behind.

Pangelinan who scattered 50 points exploded with 11 three-point shots.

But the Autonomous, determined to crawl up after losing twice for the season, invested much in two-pointers and free throw shots.

Their defensive efforts also held most DPW players scoreless through out the game leaving Pangelinan and Oscar Masga working for the team.

Steve Rasa scored 20 points and Ulysses Kapileo added 14 points.
