Hawks’ Edwin Maratas and Alvin Alvarez’s absence instantly won the Dynamites two sets, putting them ahead. The Hawks lost four straight games before prevailing in a women’s doubles match against Dynamites’ Marlene Peraja and Elma Labuson.

A 9-5 lead wasn’t enough for the Dynamites, as So Young Lee pounded Hawks’ Merlie Savellano for three more sets. Things worsened for the Hawks when Dynamite’s Toshiko Obata pummeled Christy Villaflor 21-16 in their final round.

The Dynamites ended with a bang as Joey Algenio, Lee, Hibi, and Omori scored five more sets.

The Yellow Idols also triumphed against team Orange Shuttlers, beating them 21-8 for third place.

The Idols dashed to nine sets in the first three games before losing to Shuttlers’ Choi Hannah and Merlie Tolentino.
