Eagles soar to 11th win in boys volleyball

The Eagles slipped and headed for a possible loss yesterday but survived the third set to conquer the Marianas High School Awesome Fins.

GCA easily secured the first set, landing several aces to win, 25-12. The Awesome Fins however, fired back and used the Eagles’ errors against them to claim set two, 25-17.

High school seniors Angelo Salas and Dae Min Jeon later shut MHS off on multiple spikes and scored seven points in row to win, 15-3 in set three.

The Eagles have been the only team to overcome Saipan International School, handing them two losses last month. GCA has one game remaining on Monday, November 7 against Saipan Southern High School.

MISO’s end of the season playoffs will commence on November 15 with Tinian High School clinching the fourth seed automatically.

In other games, the MHS QTs crushed the MHS KFC Dolphins in three sets, 25-14, 25-17, 15-11. Kagman High School recovered from Monday’s loss versus SIS and outran SSHS, 25-19, 25-23, 15-11.

The Geckos posted their 10th win against the KFC Dolphins (25-15, 25-2, 15-6) to end their regular season run.
