Edward Sablan
EDWARD Sablan bagged the Saipan Golf Association’s August Ace of the Month title on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Coral Ocean Resort Saipan.
The weather was unpredictable, but that did not stop Sablan from swinging. On the front and back nines, his gross scores were 45 and 49 for a gross total of 94. However, with a handicap of 27, his net score was 67.
In second place was Larry Deleon Guerrero, who cleared the first nine holes with a gross of 43. However, he struggled on the back nine and ended with a gross of 47 for a gross total of 90. Supported by a handicap of 20, his net score was 70.
Coming in third was Frances Sablan who shot a gross of 49 on the front nine and 52 on the back for a gross total of 101. With a 29 handicap, her net score was 72.
In the optional play, Ed Manibusan was the Closest to the Pin on holes #3 and #14. Joe I. Sablan ruled hole #7 while Edward Sablan reigned on hole #12.
Edward Sablan also had the Longest Drive on hole #6 while Tony Reyes was numero uno on hole #18.
Besides Edward Sablan, the SGA 2023 Aces of the Month so far are Ray Salas (January), Das Krishnan (February), Joe I. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Nick Sablan (May), Tony Reyes (June) and Larry Deleon Guerrero (July).
The SGA 2023 September Ace of the Month Tournament is set for Sept. 24, at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort west course with a show time of 8:30 a.m. and tee time of 9 a.m.
