Ferreras triumph vs. Grocers, 106-80

The powerhouse team of Kae Bernado, James Abuy, and Rex Yabut pummeled their way through the Grocers early in the match, resulting in their overwhelming lead.

Ferrera’s Abuy and Bernardo shot a combined total of 19 points in the first quarter, with support from Yabut and Ponce Rasa. The Grocers also started strong when Ernesto Moises slammed three three-pointers. Unfortunately, his efforts alone couldn’t match up to the Ferreras’ well balanced offensive.

The Grocers stayed close in the scores until the third quarter, when Yabut struck four field goals followed by a lay up from Kae Bernardo. Abuy, who missed his first set of jump shots earlier in the game, finally made up with a three-pointer.

With the ten-point gap between both teams, the Ferreras decided to finish off their opponents in the final quarter with the help of Joseph Galulu. Ferrera’s Abuy and Ponce Rasa took their turns at the basket, knocking Grocers defenders out of the way.

Grocer’s Eugene Mangali struck back with a reverse lay up, but spent more of his time guarding the basket from Galulu. Having fewer players for the game, the Grocers focused on key players Moises and Mangali, who scored 25 points.

Aside from their regular schedule, the QQ Car Rental Basketball League will be utilizing this coming Sunday and next week Sunday for any make-up games.
