Fielders shut out Lion King in Seniors Little League finals

Fielders’ starter Peter Tenorio beat Shirley Taitano to walk the first base, then, stole his way to the scoring position all the way to score the first run in the second inning.

The Lion Kings sent to the mound Taitano and Doriana Emul — the first two female pitchers ever played in the seniors championship.

Jonathan Celis knocked-in two runs with a triple over right fielder, Taitano as he led the Fielders rally in the bottom of the third inning.

Tom Agulto rocketed a double over center fielder, Jack Muna, and JD Sablan duplicated it to the left field but came short of completing a triple attempt.

Tenorio singled and stole second base. Ton Aguon also hit a single pushing Tenorio to scoring position which Lion King’s short stop Richard Dela Cruz prevented by stopping Robert Guerrero.

The Fielders defensive shortened the bottom of the third inning by sending Shota Castro, Richard Dela Cruz and Dominic Chargualaf out.

Celis sliced a single pushing Juan Maratita to scoring position and Agulto hit a sacrifice bunt sending both of them home, 7-0.

Nokki Saralu replaced Agulto in the mound and struck out AJ Taitano, Brandon Indalecio and Dorian Emul in the bottom of the fourth.

Celis advanced to first base after a hit by pitch then stole second and third.

Tenorio drove him in with a double.

Maratita struck out Taitano and finished off the Lion King by foiling Brandon Dikito’s second base attempt.

Jets 12, D9ers 1

In consolation game, the Jets rampaged with 10 basehits in the fifth inning routing the D9ers to win this year’s third place.

The Jets was in the winning stance last week when they got forfeited due to uniform violation, and lost to the Lion Kings.

Thomas Camacho, Harry Nakamura, Eli Aughenbaugh and Keoni Lizama hit run-scoring single.

Marvin Ngeskebei drove-in with a sacrifice fly.

Starter Josh Jones had three strike outs and gave up two hits.

Thomas Camacho took over the mound in the bottom of the fourth and struck out two. He allowed two hits and walked one.
