Juan Gautno held ground as he pulled away from his challengers at the stretch of the race and clocked in with a time of 1:15:53 to finish first place for the Open Male Division. Trailing him is Koji Tsuchida who settled for second place with his time of 1:16:53, followed by the youngest male who signed for the open male division, Yuri Ito, who came in third with 1:27:22.
In Masters Category, Joe Chilton finished strong as he was able to cross the tape with 1:27:59 to grab top spot wherein Masayuki Takashima’s 1:28:46 and Maskazu Komatsu’s 1:33:30 to finish as second and third, respectively.Other honored finishers are Liam Bornovski of the Junior male division with 1:05:32, Ma Otto of the Junior female division with 1:12:30 and Masters female Division Judy Otto for coming in at 1:38:44.Next marathon race will be held at the Palau Pacific Resort and will be a full marathon in preparation for the Rainbow Marathon race on the month of December.Organizers and officials of the Triathlon race wishes to acknowledge the sponsors, Koror State Government, Palau Swimming Association, Koror State Gym and the Bureau of Public Safety personnel who helped in the success of the event.In other story, Tino Faatuaala who is the head coach of athletes that will represent Palau on the Triathlon competition for the upcoming MicroGames in 2010 announced his powerful line – up where Yuri Ito, Olai Kumangai, and Telbiil to compete in the male division while Ma Otto for the female division.
