GCA boosts to finals; MBA beats SIS B

The Eagles, ending the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record, conquered the Knights in only two sets. They crushed the Knights in a blowout game during the first set, winning by 25-9.

Brandon Chargualaf, Angelo Salas, and Dae Min Jeon struck easy kills in the second set, improving their chances to advance. Failure to stop them would result in elimination for the Knights.

Villagomez sticks with the team through the match, passing the balls to teammates Geza Baka and Kimberly Sablan.

Aira Batallones and Crystalline Cristobal defend at the Eagles’ back row, while Noel Miguel and James Libut focus on kills.

Behind by 24-15, the Knights needed to 10 successive serves to win the game. Chargualaf finishes the match after spiking the ball passed from Libut. With their 10-win streak in the regular season, the Eagles earned their spot in the league’s championship game on Friday.

The Marianas Baptist Academy Stormz also advanced in the tournament after beating Saipan International School Team B yesterday.

The Geckos never reached the third set after their 25-15 loss. Stormz’ Charlie Jo, Trisha Takayama, and Ji Hoon Choi took on their opponents at the start, winning by 25-14.

Jo was briefly alternated in the second set, but returned later with Paul Samson at his side.
