Geckos down Fins for 8th win

The former-unbeaten Geckos improved to eight wins on Friday, with two losses from Grace Christian Academy.

The Awesome Fins drew a close fight for the first set but fell on errors and lost, 25-20. SIS easily won, 25-11, 15-2 in sets two and three to shut them down from a possible comeback. Andrew Nutting delivered an ace before reaching the game point in the third set and allowed the Fins slip on an out of bound return.

SIS has two games left this season, with the first against Kagman High School today and the second against the MHS KFC Dolphins on Wednesday, November 2.

In another game, the MHS QTs clinched two of three sets to post their fifth win against Saipan Southern High School.

The QTs dominated sets one and two (25-16, 25-16) on a steady offensive from team captain Michael Moran, with support from Genesis Mamaril and Jason Limes.

The Manta Rays however, fired back and edged MHS, 15-14 in the third set.

The QTs — holding five wins and four losses — have three games to go versus GCA, KHS, and the KFC Dolphins.
