GMP x Yuman remains undefeated in the Destroyers Basketball Club Invitational Basketball League 2024 after clinching their fifth straight win of the season against Star Water, 127-95, at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.

As usual, GMP x Yuman was quick to set the tone as they shot with confidence to score across the board. Jude Tengco and Justin Enano ignited the offensive run with a pair of buckets each in the first few minutes of the first half while the rest of the team kept the fuel burning from afar with six triples contributed by Arjeff Fernandez, Jether Medina and Sean Licayan to push a double-digit advantage.

Star Water struggled to keep up despite the spirited efforts of Arjay Giron and De Shawn Adelbai as GMP x Yuman’s lead grew by halftime, 54-33.

Star Water returned from the break revitalized with the rest of the team chipping in their share. Giron’s reliable three-point shot forced all eyes on him, and opened up driving lanes for Albert Piquero, Jericho De Leon and Gleads Canolo who each scored in double digits.

But Star Water’s output was not enough to close the distance. GMP x Yuman continued to thrive from long range, draining four consecutive triples before shifting the action inside in the final 10 minutes led by Enano and Raymond Atencio en route to a blowout victory, 127-95.
