Grillin’s advance in quarterfinals

The Grillins’ victory was mainly attributed to their strong offensive made up of Roger Herrera, Lerio Pagarao, and Rosell Ritual. The three put together a combined total of 83 points for the team, where Pagarao led with 31 points.

After making their come back in the third quarter, the Grillin’s began paving their lead with numerous free throw shots and two pointers from the unstoppable Pagarao.

The Fixers’ failure to handle the ball in the fourth quarter resulted in the Grillins’ huge 24-point lead. With time in their hands, the Grillin’s were able to finish the game with five three-pointers from Herrera, Jun Itaas, and Ritual.

Both teams fought closely during the first half, with the Grillin’s leading the first quarter by 22-19 and the Fixers leading the second with 42-40. JR Barrios was the Fixers’ head scorer with 22 points, followed 13 points from Fixers’ Toto Vergara and Cris Camacho.

The quarterfinals will continue tonight starting at 6 pm, where the DL Cooking Gas will be heading against the Wings Travels. The PTCs and Trinities are set to follow afterward, at 8 pm.

Second quarterfinal game continues tonight

Unfortunately for the Salbahes and the Archers, their quarterfinal game last Wednesday was postponed due to rain, and will be pushed to tonight’s games with the DL Cooking Gas, Wings Travels, PTCs, and Trinities.

The Salbahes headed off to a slow but steady start, catching up to the Archers in the second quarter. The Archers boosted themselves with a 10-point lead after taking advantage of the Salbahes’ constant traveling fouls.

Eventually, the Salbahes began picking up speed, trailing the Archers by 35-34.

Rain started to drizzle during the game’s half time break, delaying the match by 20 minutes. By the second half, the Archers maintained their single-point lead ahead of the Salbahes. Heavy rain poured three minutes into the fourth quarter, leaving both teams at a 50-50 deadlock.
