Guam beats New Zealand, 71-48

Blas geared up his defense by securing the ball 15 times with nine defensive rebound and six steals.

William Stinnet picked up fouls and went 3-for-3 to finish with 11 points and Jine Han basketed four of his four free throws to help stretch the lead firing 10 shots most of which lay ups.

Steve Susuico also went sharp from the free throw line making his two attempts to score a total of eight points. He also helped tighten the defense with three defensive rebounds and affected three turn-overs.

Vince Stelle also worked hard in the back court by preventing New Zealand’s attempt four times. He added eight points.

New Zealand’s Luke Aston helped narrow the gap minutes to the end of the first half firing 11 points.

Zachariah Makavilitogia backed him up with nine points including his three penalty shots.

However, Blas and Han continue went on with their shooting spree as the second half started stretching the lead again to 24 and Guam did not look back.
